First Day of School + 1 Happy Mumma

So the year has REALLY begun now... Does the first day of school feel like that for everyone? Normal programming has resumed and even better than that, they are both at the same school again... so, one school means one set of school functions and one lot of helping out! I know, it's very selfish but I'm so gleefully happy about this :) We all walked up that hill this morning but soon they'll be walking on their own... my babies are growing up. The Big Girl is starting high school and the Little One is starting at middle school, so new beginnings all round this year. It's also the reason why they are back today - most schools here go back on Wednesday after the Australia Day holiday tomorrow. Anyway... happy school starts to everyone. Now the crafting begins :)

Hi Elk! Same uniform but the middle schoolers wear blue socks and skort (you know, it looks like a skirt but they are shorts) and the high schoolers wear white socks and a skirt. Not much of a difference, but at least I won't be getting their socks or skirts mixed up ;) Kx

My baby starts high school on Thursday so we will have two schools. Not sure how you keep up with more than one? that sounds hard! Hope your girls have a great first day :-)

Happy school days to your girls, we're moving to Brisbane in December to our 4th different state/ territory education system. Still learning!! This is my 2nd & final year of having all 4 children in the same primary school, it's so nice & easy. Love Posie

Yikes! Can I admit a tinge of green jealousy? Mine don't start back until next Monday. And boy will we be ready by then!

Totally agree. Even with two little ones still at home, when the two biggies head off on Wed it'll be the START of the year for me. Don't know what I'll do though... probably just parent these two little ones!

ah the memories of school! even from the other side as a kid it never felt like the year began for 'real' until school went back. happy new beginnings and have a very happy australia day today!! xx

I can't really imagine what it is like to send the kids off to school. yet. But I CAN imagine feeling a twinge of excitement and glee. And thank goodness that you can streamline a bit with the girls in the same place... it's all that pick-up-drop-off-extra-curricular bizzo that makes life very complicated.
Hurrah for you, and viva la craft.

I love hearing about your life in Australia. I am so far away and our school schedule is totally opposite to yours. And yet, I can relate to being happy when they go back to school after a long summer. Don't feel guilty for a simpler schedule and enjoy the creative process! I'm looking forward to seeing the results.
